Fire Alarm Installation

Old fire alarms may not work as well as they should. They may need replacing so that you and your team are alerted should there be a fire. It’s not worth risking your business or someone’s life by hoping that a less-than-perfect fire alarm works. Let us replace your fire alarm system and protection equipment with a system that we trust.

These days, fire protection systems offer so much more than they used to. They can show you where the fire is so you know to stay away from the affected area. Fire alarms can sound in one location or in all locations so that everyone is alerted. In addition to this, some fire alarms can trigger sprinkler systems, if required.

We can repair and maintain your current fire alarm system or replace it with a more modern one. Trust us to carry the work out well and to a high standard.

Fire extinguishers require annual servicing in-line with British Standards BS5306-3 & 8 to ensure that they are fully compliant with the latest regulations placed on organisations, here in the United Kingdom, by The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 along with being documented in their Fire Risk Assessment. The purpose of annual fire extinguisher servicing is to protect your building and people within the building in the event of a fire breaking out. Fire extinguisher servicing will involve assessing the suitability for local individual risks, the current condition of the extinguishers, and the overall functionality of these.

There is an obligation on the ‘Responsible Person’ within all organisations, through The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 to get all fire extinguishers serviced annually. The minimum requirement for businesses is servicing at least every 12 months and the next service interval should be planned and agreed in advance, to avoid potential issues and legal pitfalls, and of course to ensure compliance in the overall health and safety at work.

Fire extinguishers play a pivotal and essential role in safeguarding your commercial building and people in the event of a fire breaking out. A typical fire protection plan, in-line with a Fire Risk Assessment, would ensure fire extinguishers (lifesaving critical fire safety equipment) are in place, under the duties and responsibilities of a Responsible Person, along with helping to give peace of mind for all involved, as well helping to prevent catastrophic damage to property and even loss of life. Fire extinguishers are first aid firefighting pieces of equipment, essential for putting out small and undeveloped fires.

According to BS 5839, commercial fire alarm systems should be inspected at least every 6 months. For larger premises where more complex systems may be utilised, quarterly inspections are recommended. These inspections should be carried out by a competent fire safety professional
